Coaching for brains that work differently
For the overwhelmed, the chaotic and anyone who feels they don't quite fit. ADHD, brain fog, hormones, or just chronically behind on life. Diagnosis not required.
Online or in Plymouth.
I don't have the answers. You do.
If you're here, you're probably juggling 47 tabs in your brain and wondering where on earth to start. I hear you, I see you, I feel you.
Coaching isn't me telling you what to do. It's a warm, shame-free space to work out what actually works for your brain. In real life, not in a productivity book written for someone else's.
More clarity, more calm, a bit more confidence. One step at a time.
Who am I?

Hi! I'm Karen, but everyone calls me Bird. I'm only Karen when I'm in trouble. 😄 I was diagnosed with ADHD at 51, and since then I've been on a massive hyperfocus, learning everything I can about how brains like ours work (you've probably done the same!).
I'm passionate about supporting anyone whose brain regularly says 'nope, not today'.
You'll find me at Plymouth Wellbeing Centre, or online wherever you are.
Background and training
I've spent over 20 years in training and group coaching. I trained as an ADHD coach in the very first cohort of The ADHD Coaching Academy, run by Dr Alex Connor and Sally Cater (Senior EMCC Practitioner). Finding the right course really mattered to me, because you deserve someone properly trained, not just well-meaning.
Questions people ask
Do I need a diagnosis?
No. Diagnosed, waiting, suspecting, or just knowing your brain works differently, you're welcome.
Is this counselling or therapy?
No. I'm not qualified in counselling or therapy, and coaching isn't a replacement for either. Coaching focuses on practical strategies for the here and now. If you're struggling with anxiety or your mental health, coaching can sit alongside your GP, a counsellor or a therapist, but not instead of them.
Will I have to talk about my feelings?
Absolutely not, unless you want to. Coaching is about finding strategies that work for you. If explaining how you feel to someone who gets it helps you move forward, no problem. But this isn't counselling.
What if I cry?
Not a problem at all. This is a judgement-free zone.
Is it all really serious?
Not unless you want it to be.
Will you tell me what to do?
No. I'll ask questions that help uncover the layers, so you can find the solution that works for you.
Can you teach me about my ADHD?
No. Your ADHD is yours, and it's not the same as mine or anyone else's. I'm not qualified to teach about ADHD, but if you'd like, I can point you towards resources that helped me.
Can coaching help with peri-menopause or menopause brain fog?
Yes. Together we find practical ways through the days when brain fog, hormones and overwhelm make everything harder.
Online or in person?
Both. Online from wherever you are, or in person at Plymouth Wellbeing Centre.
How much is it?
£55 for a 50-minute 1:1 session.
